I've done a search, and I have checked and done the following...
Cleaned points, disconnected condenser, replaced coil with a known good coil, bypassed ballast resistor, checked plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
The engine cranks over fine, plenty of gas, spark at plug is very weak. I even hooked up a fully charged battery directly to the distributor, and it still would not fire. I have verifed 12.86 volts from the battery all the way to the points, and still a very weak spark.
My dad tonight mentioned on the phone to check the ground to the engine, to make sure there is not a ground issue.
Does any one have any other ideas, short of ordering up one of Langdons electronic distributors for my 235? Or maybe do the Pertronics? Right now I just want to be able to move it under power, and she refuses to fire up...
ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

The condenser helps the field colapse quicker giving a better spark, you must have a good condenser in the circuit or your points will burn. Put in a known good condenser, or a new one and try to start it again. | | |

#58339 03/27/2006 3:42 PM | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 83 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 83 | Well I recharged the battery, and put another battery in parallel, replaced the condesor, and gave it another try, and got her to fire, a little more finess, and she was running, found a few more things to work one... Choke cable is rusty again, so need to pull it out, and oil it up again... and found a few new "friends" moved into the cab while I was out to sea with the USN... so now I need to find where they were living and make sure I got them all out...
