Would a lot of work have to be done to get it changed over? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 | yes it will, use your 70 intake and carb unless you want to computerize it. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 143 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 143 | Okay cool. I don't have the 1970 intake and carb but I'm sure I'll find some parts that'll work. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | Pretty basic swap if you do as Tmater says & use older parts instead of the computer controls. The older intakes will not fit because the bolts in the center are straight up. There are special manifolds made to use a carb on these & some specialty manifolds are both ways. Ive heard of filing the bolt holes in the manifold to accept this but Ive never seen it done. You will have to use a flywheel that is with the late engine or get one to fit. They have a balance weight built in & have a different bolt pattern. Rest is pretty basic. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | |
