The bolt pattern on the timing cover is not a match, and I believe the length of the old and new engine designs is slightly different. You'd also need a V-8 bellhousing from 55-62 to bolt up to the back of the 194-292 block, and some of them don't have exactly the same motor mount positioning as the 216-261 bellhousings had. Jerry

Then what would hold the engine up?
