Thanks | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 | The wires on the coil should be facing down. | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | Many people mount them with the attachment posts up, for ease of attachment (and, I've heard people say, to avoid leaks)? If the coil leaks, replace it.
All documents that I have seen have had the attachment posts down.

But clearly because it was not fully pushed in, because it hasn't happened since. | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 425 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 425 | Before I re-built the 216 the coil was facing down. After the re-build the coil would not fit facing down, so I had to flip it over. All I can figure is that I pushed the oil pump in too much, causing the distributor to raise up a little when I installed it. | | |
