I've been a member here since October of 2007 which is when I picked up my 1961 C10 Stepside. I live in Topsham Maine where rust free cars and trucks are few and far between. When I found this truck advertised in the local Swap or Sell it Guide, it stated that it needed a cab mount and a floor patch. Unfortunately I did not have a clever enough eye to detect all of what it really needed when I bought it. LOL. So my story begins with me driving it into my shop the day I got it, showed the wife (she was impressed), and started dismantling it. Almost 2 years later, I have a freshly painted frame on top of 2 saw horses (she's not so impressed). Feel free to follow my progress as I post updates and pictures to my new webpage.

Please check back often as I will be updating it as I work on it.

Looks like a nice project, and a great web page. Remember that it's almost 50 years old, and that it didn't come from New Mexico. Rust is almost always an issue, I think that you have a lot of truck to work with.

I am looking forward to following your progress.

I know you have a "vision". Keep it in sight but don't let it overwhelm you. Take the lady to a movie now and then and work on the truck a little along the way. Then you will get to a point that your vision is coming into focus and you'll be happy you did what you did.... and the little lady will to. I can hear her now ...
"Honey, I knew you could do it" smile
And keep us posted.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Thanks for the encouragement fellas. I need it and LMC doesn't stock it! HA.

John, that's a pretty sweet Deere in the pic behind your 42. I have a 1952 Farmall Cub that I'm also (slowly)restoring. It was my grandfather's. I grew up on it and when he passed in 2002, my aunt called me asking if I was interested in it. I will have to post pics of that as well at some point. Another work in progress!

Thanks again guys.
