It has all the specs for highth, width, and whatever. If they don't have a list on site, order their catalog, its free. Cecil...........

They do fill the well but at times they look to tall. If you want a radial which is the equivalent the size is 215/85 R16 which might be an inch shorter but a bit wider. I have seen them on a stock 51 and they look good.

Got them through my local truck tire dealer. 31.8" diameter, 8.4" wide. These are load range D, 8 ply so they do ride rougher, but I can safely haul a 2 ton load. Before putting a dually setup on my 53 1 ton, it safely cleared 235/85/16s (about 32 inches tall)load range E, not a smooth ride, but helped keep the rpms down with a 5.14 rear

I have been doing the measure for a while to see what I can find and broken the code yet.
Suggestion??

Try your local farmer's coop or truck tire center and look at the Kumho and Denman catalogs.

Thanks

The problem is setback, distance from the hub face to the back of the rim. Don't know what the front end is like on the 46, but on the AD trucks the problem is with clearing the tie rod ends. I put a pair of 16" rims from an early 90s 3/4 ton on the rear, but they won't clear the tie rod ends on the front. So I'm still running 15" lock-ring rims on the front. Rims from Dodge and Ford have the same bolt pattern, but you can't run stock hubcaps with them.
Some guys have used white spoke trailer rims. Summitt Racing and LMC also show 8 bolt rims in their catalogs, but I don't know what the setback is.

I am sometimes typing and proof reading challenged. What I meant to say is what type of modern tire will fit on my 17" rims. The tires are 700x17 and I am sure 750x17 will work as well. I was trying to find modern sized radial tires to replace my old tires. I have also determined that my truck is a 1 ton. Same wheel base and a slightly heavier suspension. So I would like to get radials.
The tie rod end and brake line clearance is still a big an issue. The setback and wider tires are still a problem. I have measured the tires and rims and done some comparisons on rim width, section/tire width,section/aspect and tire diameters. This was great fun but didn't get me much.
The best I have come up with that "Might" work is a 265/65R/17 from website tire finder.
Any suggestions or experience with these Tires?

I stopped at my local goodyear place...not the chain type, but the local garage where they still have mechanics and understand what you are looking for. My guy figured out what size tire was what and could do the math that compared stock tires to radials.
They might be able to help you by ordering in the tire you need.
Maybe you already tried that...if so...never mind.
I know my local Sams and Fleet Farm would not mount a tire for me unless the book said it "belonged" on my truck...go figure..their books did not even list my truck.
I was surprised that the local guy beat Sams anyway when it came to price. Best of all, the customer service was personal as compared to the big box places.

I went to a place yesterday hoping what you described would happen, no such luck. I will continue to try. Somebody here can do this for me and there is probably a chart that shows all the dimensions involved. I just haven't found them yet. I am sure there is an easy quick and not so expensive solution to the 700x17 problem.
Thanks, Mike
