Hi All,
Recently found you while surfin' for something I can't seem to remember right now, but decided to join you for the fun that seems to just happen around these ol' trucks.
As mentioned in my first post (a reply in error) to another members thread, I've been draggin' my '53 1/2T Panel Truck around for a few years and gathering parts & pieces to build it up with a 500 C.I. Cadillac motor & tranny with a few other bells and whistles for good measure. I finally had a garage/shop put up but I ran out of $$$$$ to get my P.T. project off & running. I'll build the fun fund back up as O.T. allows and hopefully I'll have some progress pics to share soon. Meanwhile I've pasted a link to my Photobucket page that has pics of my P.T. I look forward to making new friends and swapping ideas, tips and pics. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Nice shop - how many square feet is that thing?

Thanks for the welcome Dave. The shop is 1800 sq. ft. (30 X 60) with attic trusses for an additional 600 sq. ft. of storage above the ceiling. There's also a 25 X 60 concrete area in front for working/parking etc. This all is a dream come true for me and even though it drained the $$$$$ pond, I don't regret it for a minute. I'm slowly building things back up and hopefully will have some play money before the beginning of next year.
As nice as my shop is ( a friend calls it "Gary's Garagosaurus Rex"), I know there are bigger & better ones to drool over so I've pasted a link everyone might find interesting. Enjoy.

Welcome Gary, sounds like we have the same vehicles. Hope you feel at home here, there are more panel owners, just scroll down to Panels 'N Burbs. Yours looks pretty cool.

Gary, welcome to the best site on the web....AND its nice to see another panel guy like me and 53Panel. There are more panel and burb guys around and I'm sure you'll be meeting them.

Oh, nice shop. Don't forget to paint the floors .... never know when you might have to move in! lol

Thanks. I'd planned on painting the floor but nibby nosed neighbors and the city code enforcers made me move all my stuff inside before I could get the funds together for the real good ($100.00 @ gal.) paint I wanted to use. Based on the square footage covered by the paint, I'd need 9 - 10 gallons to do it right. When I get the funds lined up, I'll have to just paint sections at a time & move things around as required to get it done.

WOW! Your panel looks quite awesome as well. I'll bet you can drive it too. What have you got for the power train? Do you have any more pics available? I've gathered all the parts to put a 1970 Cadillac Eldorado 500 C.I. motor and a rear wheel drive Cadillac transmission in.
