i want to build a flatbed with stake pockets for my newly restored 46 chevy 2 ton. i dont need it to be 100% correct but i want it to match the truck. i have looked at kampco
or i think that is what its called has anyone used their products and if so how are their prices? should i just get some steel and start building, philip

Also, you might try finding your local welding shop and seeing what they can do -- stake bodies aren't that hard to make and a local guy might surprise you with being able to make an original looking bed for a lot less than you think.

I used Kampco and should have pictures of Emily's flatbed in a couple days. Cost for the steel for a 12 x 8 bed was about $650, but shipping was another $275. I'm in the process of installing the lights and should be done by weekend.

A local fabricator gave me an estimate of $3,200 last spring, so I called Kampco for the steel and bought a mig welder. The fabricator was turning away business at the time, but now he is working a skeleton crew and would probably do it a lot cheaper, so you should definitely check with any welders/fabricators in your area.
