Does anybody has a bank of detailed pics from a 52 chevy 1/2ton ? I just bought one and I'm still in the process of figuring what's stock and what's not (also what are some of those holes for ???)
Thanks for your information and your time

You will find lot's or information and pictures to compare. Also post pictures of your truck for other's to comment on. The guys around here will surprise you with all their knowledge.

Many of the details of how things were put together are the same for trucks big and small. I've seen many AD trucks and have two, the 48 is reasonably un molested (other than missing engine and transmission) Also worked at an antique auto restoration shop and learned a lot during my time there, such as what pictures are helpful later. With that in mind I took lots of detailed pictures of the 48 for reference when I finally get to reassembly, hopefully they help other folks out too.
You will learn a lot by going to shows, junk yards, and asking questions of other AD truck owners. If you see the same detail over and over again likely that is how the truck was put together originally.
If you have specific questions post them, I bet you get answers, and of not answers then opinions.

Right now, I'm mainly focus on the cab. I need to have info on my dashboard cut on the radio part. Extra holes on the door under the doorpanel (armrest was coming stock on 52?) Stuff like that. If you can identify something on the pics, let me know. I need some serious info. Also, take a look at the braket where the spare goes, Do I miss something ?? The dash area for the radio has been modified and the two original holes have been patched. You may be able to remove the patch and do a minor repair so that you can use the original radio. Arm rest were and option, but those holes are not in the right location. Your light switch has been changed, the throttle knob and the choke knob locations have been blanked out with caps. The truck looks nice, do what you want with the radio. You can buy a 12 volt conversion with FM that will fit in the hole after you fix the dash. If you want to do a cosmetic fix, rework your door panels, that's the only distraction other than the radio hole I see. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | nice truck you have, looks a lot like the one I had for over 9 yrs and sold it a couple of yrs ago, wish I had it back click here for pix yours does not have the stock engine for sure,,lol

Does the chevrolet sign on the front of the hood was coming stock on the 52 chevy?? There's no hole for the sign on mine So I wonder if they were patched or if the car was not coming with it ?
In any case , how was the install of that chevy sign (did you have to drill your own holes ?)
Let me know. Look underneath inside and you should see four 3/16" holes where they used to be. Use this link to see what I am talking about they sell the correct reproduction hood and it clearly shows what they look like. http://www.classicindustries.com/co...&categoryId=69&subCategoryId=586
