It's been 4 years since I started my 55.2 Chevy restoration and never thought I would see the day that I ask these questions.
1. I plan on using POR-15 and Bher black exterior enamel on my white oak boards. After applying the POR-15 do you scuff or use the POR-15 etch primer before applying the Bher paint?
2. I'm looking for opinions on this one. What do you think about painting the entire interior of the bed sides with bed liner? This isn't a show truck and will be used for dump and Home Depot runs. I don't want it to look strange, but I don't want scratched up bed sides either. The truck will be bright corvette yellow if that helps.
3. I have the box and all the boards on the frame with all the strips in and bolts in. How do I go about drilling the main anchor holes? I thought about drilling up from the bottom with a relatively small bit to locate the hole, then go to the top and drill the offset hole, then enlarge the bolt hole as necessary. Not sure if there are frame cross members in the way.

I think its the type(?) or perhaps the installer(?). I'd ask a bedliner person for some references for what your thinking about in order to make a decision you can live with.
I think "scuffing" the por15 is a good idea.
From what I hear I think, if it was me, that maybe put the bedwood in and do a good finish on it and then get one of the rubber bed mats and lay in it. That way if you want it to look good on Sunday you can pull the rubber mat out.
I haven't done a TF bed so I can't help on the drilling question.

Thanks for the advice. I'm leaning toward the black boards only. I can't even decide if I want to paint the stainless strips black? Decisions, decisions. The factory only painted the boards and the strips, right? or did they go up the sides a little? Yes, marking the bed to frame bolt holes from the bottom is the way I did it too.
I recently did the wood on my 55 first. The Mar-K folks were a huge help to me. They gave me measurements that got things centered and lined up perfectly.
When I traced the bottom of the boards through the cross sill holes, I ended up with 1/2 inch diameter holes marked on them. After removing the boards I drilled up through the center of these marks with a 1/8 inch bit. On the top surface of the boards I measured toward the front of the boards 3/16 inch and based on the Mar-K installation notes drilled a 1/8 to 5/32 inch deep countersink for the offset washers using a 1-9/16 inch Forstner bit. A 1/2 inch hole through the original pilot hole finished the job.

My understanding is that if you don't wait too long between coats, the POR15 does not need scuffing. Look again at the test information where we detailed the procedure. Three coats of POR15 3 hours apart and the first coat of BEHR black 3 hours after the last coat of POR15. Paint has a "Window" of opportunity where the adhesion is best. Wait too long and it does not adhere as well, paint too soon and it does not dry properly. Check POR15 application information to make sure it has not changed. Of course all paints don't have the same time window. Like I have said before, that black has been exposed outdoors 24/7 since the test began and still no failure at all. You will have to coat all surfaces of the boards, especially the ends to get those results. Thanks, I knew about the time window for POR-15, but I didn't realize that was the same for other non-POR top coats. I can't believe that those boards have been outside for what, 4 years running and no failure. That seals the deal for me! I plan to follow the Mar-k process outlined above and use a spray in bed on bed sides. My paint is nice, but not show quality. The truck is a weekender is/will be used for runs to HD and light duty stuff. Good luck!
