For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 321 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 321 | Does anybody have any detailed pics of a visor mount for a 47-53 Burb? How are they mounted? I'd just like to know if I should buy and pre-drill (if any drilling is involved) while I am going to start collecting my other goodies for the body.
Thanks Patrick

I guess your talking about the outside visor and not the little sun visor inside. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 1,519 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 1,519 | It all depends on which style/brand of visor youre going to buy. The popular one for these trucks is the Fulton, and then it depends on how high or low youre going to mount it.
For further confusion, check out the Gallery and look at some trucks with visors on them. Theres quite a few different styles. I was looking at the Fulton since it's the one that you can purchase as a re-pop. Can I just wait and mount it after I do the bodywork, or is there drilling involved? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 12 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 12 | hello all this might be off the subject, but on my 51 panel, bus, my fulton visor has on each side a curved hardware with two holes to adjust the up-n-down look. it is not long enough, to lift the visor higher. is there an extension avaliable? thank-you David | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | Maybe you have the hardware for an automobile visor?

I used a car version on my last truck and only if you v-butt the window glass can things get tricky to keep it from flapping. I do know where there is 3-4 of both styles of visors at a old salvage yard near me and I can go by next week and see about the $$ for you guys if you want.

If they have a 1954 Chevrolet Truck visor or a 1954 GMC single-piece windshield visor, I'd be interested (as long as all the hardware is there).
