Also, what are the pro's and con's of using the HEI setup in a 6-cylinder, 235cu-inch 55 series 2 truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Oh, last question. When you set the points to .016-.019, aren't you also setting the dwell. In otherwords, there's no seperate setting for the dwell is there?

Point gap and dwell are two different ways of setting/measuring the same thing. Dwell is more accurate, but gap is easier without special equipment.

Its a great unit and with the right round coil looks perfect. Tom is a great guy to deal with and his products stand the test of time....get one and say goodbye to points you will not be sorry! Now she starts first crank and burns the gas, no more sooty plugs. Also any parts you need are at any parts store, not so with 50 years old points etc.
