For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 10 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 10 | I am getting ready to pull the rear end and tube and tranny.I am trying to find the best year of T-5 that would be the best for everyday driver keeping the 235 that is in the truck. Also will the rear end work out of the same S10? Or is there a combo that most people do? Thanks for the advice. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | Sean,

The NV3500 is behind the 4.3, and the Getrag is behind the 2.5 and 2.2.
Camaro rear ends are wider, however so are Nova, etc. The S-10 2wd rears are too narrow. I believe that you will need to relocate the spring perches on any rear.
82-88 units have mechanical speedometers, 89 to 2002 has electronic. I believe post 2002 is a ford pattern
