I am getting ready to pull the rear end and tube and tranny.I am trying to find the best year of T-5 that would be the best for everyday driver keeping the 235 that is in the truck. Also will the rear end work out of the same S10? Or is there a combo that most people do? Thanks for the advice.

The T5 is only behind the 2.5 iron duke and 2.8 v6. The NV3500 is behind the 4.3, and the Getrag is behind the 2.5 and 2.2.

Camaro rear ends are wider, however so are Nova, etc. The S-10 2wd rears are too narrow. I believe that you will need to relocate the spring perches on any rear.

82-88 units have mechanical speedometers, 89 to 2002 has electronic. I believe post 2002 is a ford pattern

Thanks for the information. I was going to buy a parted out S-10 but I think I will just start with the T-5.
