I had the pleasure of attending the retirement ceremony for one of our own '60-'66 Bolters this morning -- Hamiatjax retired after serving 23 years in the big blue Canoe Club!

Welcome ashore, Shipmate! Now you'll have more time to work on your truck!!

Ding Ding!! Stovebolter Arriving!!

smile

Now that he's gone off for a couple of weeks of well-deserved vacation time with his family, here's a couple of shots from Hambone's last day I thought you all might enjoy. As any of the guys can tell you who have met him here at Stovebolt HQ at the Homecoming or other events, Hambone is a pretty quiet, unassuming, humble guy who would not want to make a big deal out of any of this. He's not your typical jet puke in that regard wink So in celebration of a career well served:

After the last flight

an aviation tradition!

As he said, "Bright sunny sky, supersonic, 6 g's, up-side-down, legal in the break."

Not too shabby a way to end a career.
