What tool is required? Will a late model puller work or is it something special? Pulling column prior to cab comimg off frame. While Im at it what about rusted brake & clutch pedals..... Thanks Brad | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 | You can buy a cheap pitman arm puller at places like Harbor Freight Tools for about $10.00 or so, or rent one at your local FLAPS. To remove the arm, put the puller jaws behind the arm after loosening the nut on the arm and screw the large bolt on the puller into the sector shaft coming out of the steering box. Do not remove the bolt - just loosen it so the arm doesn't come flying off in your face. Be careful!

Also tighten it and walk away for a few minutes and then tighten it a little bit more works most of the time. For anything rusted PB Blaster or similar spray and let it sit overnight then come back to it. You didn't say where the pedals are stuck? Is it the large assembly off the frame or the fine thread bolts that hold them together right behind the firewall? | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 2,031 | you may even borrow one from some ''flaps''

I know the pivot on orginal master would not come off a year or so ago, rebuilt master on trk. Last license plate on donor trk is 1988. Thanks Brad | | |
