For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 10 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 10 | Two questions:
Is 90 weight still the preferred oil or is an 85/140 better for this tranny?
With the shifter removed, can the oil be poured down straight from the top or does it need to be squirted through the side plug? (Sorry if this is a stupid question) | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 | Use the plug so that you dont overfill the tranny and blow the seals out. Or pop the plug and fill it from above until it runs out the hole. 90w has always worked for me.
