This might need to be in the tech section but What years were hydraulic cylinders used? I have a 62 with one and having a lot of trouble. Has anyone try to change on over to a linkage type or should i keep working on the cylinders? Thanks

there is not much that can cause a problem. repairing or replacing either the master or slave cyl is a lot less work and expense than changing the linkage over

check the fluid level.it may need bleeding and or it may need adj; about 3/4" free play at the top of the pedal. the other possibility is that the clutch is worn out.

Yes for some resson 1962 was the only year Chevrolet put the torsion bar sup. under the c 30 and c 40 in 1963 they went back to a straight axle the dry weight of a 453 is not much more than a 283 so i thought that the front end could hold it

you better do a little more research on those 2 engs weights. when I removved the 453 and 5 speed the frame went up 2 3/4" and when the 283 w/t5 went in it only went back down a 1/4"
bare 453 weighs in at 1150lbs, 283at what 565 lbs and everything else that attaches to either varies quite substantialy
