You might find it in a search. You will need to change the spindles but there is more like the lower control arm or ball joint. Its a common swap. I'm sure someone who has done it will chime in. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 355 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 355 | would be just as cheap and time saving to just get a disk brake conversion from one of the many companies offering them for around 100.00 and then all you would have to supply is the rotors and calipers from a mid 70s gm car

Doing this also allows you to use brakes designed for truck use. The rear axles can be swapped for later 12 bolt axles, the need to be shortened (3/4", I think) to work in the existing axle housing, plus use the later drums to change the rear to 5 lug (5x5" bolt pattern).

The most preferrable choice is the '71-72, as the rear end is swappable as well, giving you 5 lugs all around. After '72, the rear went to leaf springs and all the mounting brackets change.
I am currently writing a tech tip for this very thing. I swapped the front and rear of a '75 onto my '64 frame. Sorry it's a little late, but hope it helps. | | |
