I bought her about five years ago from a local fellow. The truck was very clean, no damage or rust to the body, just a small ding on the top of the cab. He said the transmission was bad, and in fact it went out in a couple of months. I found a replacement on ebay and with some help from other bolters was able to do the swap. That transmission wasn't any better so she sat a couple of years again. Now my wife was getting concerned. I got creative with my finances and took the truck to a local hot rod builder who replaced the transmission driveline and rear end, redid the complete brake system, adjsuted the timing and points, and she just purrs along now.
the motor is a 235 from 1954, still original under the skin. The fuel pump is double action so I have a handful fo steel tubing coming up in front of the motor. also you can see two tubes coming from the valve cover, one for a PCV valve to other to the air cleaner. I want to clean this up and replace the cover with another original type.
Current projects are to repair the floor in a couple of places, fill pedal holes and insulate and recover the floor. I'll be using a jute pad and a simple rubber mat. a local glass guy will replace the windshield rubber for me (leeks when it rains) and cut and install new glass. should I go with green tint, or keep it clear?
Anyhow, lots of small things to do. Nothing large planned for awhile as long as the motor holds up. When its time I'll have it rebuilt. I really like the six with the 3-speed.

Tell your glass guy to pay particular attention to the lower corners of your windshields. Accuracy is everything, and seal them up well.(I guess it rains,even in Ca.)  It's up to you if you use green glass, I don't know if originality is an issue or not.It shouldn't be a whole lot more expensive either. Good Luck Jock (A fellow '50 owner)
