I would like to do the construction or build myself, ok..I'm cheap. Trouble is, I can't seem to find a source of a kit that I can cut the board to fit my tail light housings and the mount the various components, etc. Does someone out there know of a place to get a "kit" for us that build 'em. Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a board or card that I can cut to fit my unique light housings then mount as many SDM type LEDs as will fit. Maybe put a driver chip behind it for dual intensity. My background is instrumention and process control so I should be able to handle it if I can find the parts. As always, thanks.

The information you passed on will serve me well. I decided to remove the lamp housings and modify the 'inners' to accept a 1157 type led lamp for now. The car show season is upon us and I gotta go. I had to set the socket back fron the lens about 1/2" more than orginal so the taller led lamp will clear the lens, which required me to fab a new mount for the socket. I found some very weathered (frayed) cloth insulated wire hidden behind the mount, so I'm glad I went to the trouble. Anyway, if all works out I'll build my led boards over next winter so everybody will be able to see my tail feathers even better.
