For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 47 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2009 Posts: 47 | Hi all, just wanted to say hi. Just got an 61 Apache Longbed Sidestep. It's a project for my 14 year old son and I. I made a deal with him: he works side by side with me, I teach him a few things, and at the end of the project, he gets the truck when he starts driving. He already replaced the battery! We're both excited to get started!
30 years ago, when I was 16, my first car was a '49 Chevy pickup. But this time around, I've got a little more money to spend on it. We plan on keeping the 235, with just some small performance mods (carb, distributor, ?) so any advice would be appreciated. I already ordered a copy of Tom Brownell's book, and can't wait to pour over it. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 738 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 738 | Welcome to Stovebolt. So glad to hear a young fellow is willing to work with his dad and wanting an old truck too. Dig around here and you will fine simular stories.
