My truck is my 1941 GMC 1-ton that I will be turning into a pick-up. Why? Because I like pickups, old pickups, old GM pickups.

My kids have their doubts that it will ever run, but my mechanic friend was impressed with the condition of the motor guts.

The truck will be as original as I can keep it, considering it will be a 3/4-ton pickup instead of the 1-ton flatbed it was.

It was a one-owner truck and in service until 1978 in Minnesota.

It took me 18 years to decide what to do with it. Now that THAT is out of the way, I am making good progress. The image below is how it looked before the work began.

I say leave it a 1 ton, put a 9 foot bed on it and be done with it! That truck's a beauty.

I just updated John's signature line since he has pretty much completed the truck!! One pix is here. The others are in his Gallery Forum post (just added today).
