Yes , if you fill the pickup box full of water and pump water from it by some method that propels the wet stuff threw the hose pipe a sufficient distance away , so as to effectively put out a Stovebolt Homecoming Bonfire and that steam and smoke rising from the smoldering fire can be seen from space AND the truck is painted red , then it would qualify ( maybe ) . So let it be written , so let it be done ! DaOzTinman - [censored].Fire Chief of the SVFD ED H

Well, we know *I* won't be winning that prize -- as I am sitting here this morning instead of joining a convoy to Winchester, VA to participate in the annual Apple Blossom Festival Firefighters' Parade  because a certain GMC pumper tanker still refuses to run right and I haven't had time to get to it...

 The next thing they are going to see from space is THIS truck burning ... AGAIN

So don't hold yer breath expecting me to show up in the Big Red Tank.

And did I mention I was  ?

What I am most certainly NOT is a fan of GMC V-6's -- BOAT ANCHORS

I'll get over it.

Alvin... Permits schmermits. Permits?? We don't need no stinkin' PERMITS!!! We live in the country smile

Besides, we had three firetrucks on hand (one straight pumper, two pumper/tankers each with 1,000 gallons)

Bill,

We just got home from the Maryland State Fire Association Parade (just up the road in Hughesville -- raining the whole time) -- we thought what the heck, it's close to home. Well, we just barely made it in the driveway -- sputtering, caughing and generally pitching a fit.

Mike B and John V said they talked to you and really enjoyed seeing your truck.

Regards,
John

Time to get her fixed before the tree season starts... Rain... got to hate that. It did stop long enough to hold the Fireman's parade which was really nice. I couldn't believe after all the rain all day, it stopped raining then it got sunny. We had a great parade weather event. Unbelieveable!

BTW: Mike's got a great looking truck and I think he should rebuild that Brush truck he's gotten his hands on! I saw several others from MD there also.

Take care and get that rig fixed... :-)

Quick update -- Both Mike B and John V won trophies at the parade today. I would have won, of course, but one of my rotating beacon bulbs was out ... wink That and the truck was sputtering like Tilly's mule at the rodeo.

Glad it worked out in Winchester -- the parade today was a wash out -- there were a lot of spectators though -- I was surprised.

I think Mike's thinking hard about rebuilding the brush truck rather than just using the running gear to build yet another (stifle the yawn) flatbed. Let's keep at him smile
