I have a weak left hand front spring on my 52' 3600, is there anything i can do to correct this or do i need to buy a new pair of springs. The truck is leaning to the left a bit and when i go around a right hand bend the truck dives down on the left hand front pretty bad.
Any ideas please.
Regards
Tim(UK)

you might be able to add an extra leaf to that corner to bring it up and strengthen it ,either a old spring for parts, or better if there is a spring shop near you to buy a piece of new plate steel the same thickness or a little bit heaver ,arched the same ,or just a little bit more .

it could be the cab mounts are sagging. or the floor is rotted.

If it is the springs they can be re-arched.

I've re-arched many springs with a hammer and two blocks of steel. Take both front springs off the truck. Take the leaves apart so you have one leaf at a time (both springs). Use the "good" spring as a pattern to recurve each bad leaf on the de-arched side. Sit the de-arched spring over the two blocks of steel (about 8 inches apart) as a bridge with the spring eyes up (just like it sits on the truck), then hammer down exactly between the two blocks of steel one blow at a time. VERY IMPORTANT hammer at one point...the center between the two blocks. Use a big hammer (5lbs) and check your progress frequently. Don't make the bend in just one place...spread it out over three or four points and make it match the good pattern perfectly. Match each leaf on the good spring until you are satisfied that both springs are the same. The prings will be stronger than new, and it will NOT affect the temper of the spring. I've raised friends 4WD trucks this way and saved them the expense of lift kits. It works. Jim.

Good advice from Chetman, a bit time consuming but saves money, I have done that a few times and it works fine.

I thing the Pros do this with a hydraulic hammer. I think that I have seen this on TV. It must make quite the racket doing this.

just do it with ear muff's out in the back forty so you don't startle the kid's or the cow's .just like bang bang maxwell .or use a small bottle press in the shop .
