Hello to all the bolters on this site, happy to be here, my name is Robert (better known as dad by my children, or "hey you" by my better half). Under construction is my 1952 chevy half ton 3100. 79' nova front clip, and rear end from the same doner. 235 power plant fenton headers, holly webber two barrel carb, 91' s10 five speed manual transmission, etc. I've come a long way with my project while just surfing these forums and not actually being a member. Thank you to all the genius and expert advice of everybody who is here to help. Im kinda new to this internet posting stuff, so i do not have any pictures yet, however I will be getting a digital camera soon so I can properly document everything and let you guys see what Im doing. I have nearly identical issues with power steering, brackets, etc. like "drummin52" whom, if you've got your ears on, I've been watching your profile pretty close if you don't mind. Don't wanna make this too long, so many thanks to all, again. P.S. I've had my own unique set of issues and problems doing the 79' Nova swap, and since I did it myself, I know quite a bit about what im doing in that respect, and am more than happy to help anyone along the lines of what I've done. thanks -Robert

Glad to have you here at Stovebolt. I don't think there are any rules about using the word Rat Rod, so don't worry, your welcomed here anytime. Hope you and Drummin52 get your kinks worked out. Good Luck! Joy

Thanks alot achipmunk. Just meant to say that since i've been workin on the ol truck, instead of planning anymore, I just let the truck tell me what it wants to be. and so far this is what it is. And thanks for the warm welcome. Glad to be here

Hi MesaBoogie, I'm a bit late chiming in,but welcome!

I like what you're doing, letting the truck 'evolve'.

Glad to see you got your priorities right, buy all the shiny stuff first! wink
First thing I bought was headlamp rings and door handles. headscratchI had no motor, trans or back axle!
I just can't help myself when there's chrome about.
Look forward to seeing more pics.

I like it! How's the power steering coming along? Last year I think Classic Trucks magazine ran a feature on a couple of "grunge" trucks. Did anybody else see that? I like the term rat rod better than grunge truck....
I saw a 48-53 Chevy pickup at Indy Good Guys 2 years ago that had a mid-50's Olds bumper with the big oval shaped bullets grafted on the front and ALL the paint sanded off to bare metal. I liked it!
It's your truck man, do it like you want it. Have fun... safely.
