Today - while waiting for my stinkey pete to show up, I decided to take a look around.
Headlights do not turn on, but dash & parking lights do. My first thought was maybe a fuse.
I can't find the fuse box!
There is nothing under the dash - so I looked under the hood. Nothing there either.
Any ideas? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | there was no fuse panel standard on the TF trucks, they only got one if there was accessory electrical stuff ordered [radio, etc - it was on the inside firewall just above the clutch, looks like this] - the light switch has one fuse on it for the light circuit, and also has a pair of heat sensitive bi-metal type "circuit breakers" for the headlights alone .... could also be the switch itself, the dimmer switch, or wiring Bill | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 208 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 208 | WOW! thanks Bill. I have no fuse box. The truck came with no radio (delete plate still there) & what looks like an add on heater with just a toggle switch, so I'd say no box fits your description.
The previous owner said they used to work fine, but they wouldn't light for him when I bought it. I'll check the switch/ fuses first.
The wiring in the truck (what there is of it) is in really good condition compared to other cars I've owned.

There are maybe 6 wires in the whole truck, so while working out the old main seal this afternoon - I though it unusual to see a broken wire under there near the floor. I think I just found my issue.
I'm out on vacation for the next week - wish I could work on it. | | |
