Can anyone help me figure out if the foot pedal starter and linkage from a '59 Apache (second series cab) will be the same with respect to the cab location and starter pedal of a 1952 1/2 ton (first series) matching up to the 235 engine? Basically the pictures I have seen look the same but I never had the original in the 52 so I don't know if they will match up.

I guess you don't have the 52 bell or linkage? I'm running a later 261 in my 46, using the OLD 216 original bell and starter set up, so you can stay with the old stuff even is using a later motor. If that's your question???

Thanks for the reply Shark. I don't have the original 52 bell or linkage. It sounds like the starter linkage gets attached at the bell housing flywheel area which would change depending on the motor year. If I don’t have the OLD 1st series bell housing then the hole in my cab which is offset from the gas peddle might not match up.

Kev - I don't think that setup on the bellhouseing changed at all during the period the foot start was used, and the bellhouse mounting should be in the same position with regard to the cab, I'd expect the later one to fit fine, GM was good back then on not redesigning something that didn't need it

You can't put a '59 bellhousing in a '52 without modifying the frame. The way the bellhousing mounts to the frame is completely different. It changed in '54.
