It sounds like the starter linkage gets attached at the bell housing flywheel area which would change depending on the motor year. If I don’t have the OLD 1st series bell housing then the hole in my cab which is offset from the gas peddle might not match up.
Your not trying hard enough if you don�t screw up every once in a while.
