Don't know if this is the right place for this.My truck is a'57 1/2 ton from texas and when i bought it it had a heater out of a chrysler in it Now,i want to put one in,and sitting in my back yard is a scrapper that i picked up for parts on mine. It's also a '57 1/2 ton only canadian.I pulled the heater out of it with no problems, looks to be in great shape, but,my problem is none of the holes will line up without doing some modifications.I think i'll be able to make it fit,i was just surprised that they were so different, just figured the firewalls were all stamped the same way. headscratch

the firewalls are all the same, but the holes are specific to the model of heater, and for 57 there was at least 3 different ones, all with different cores - if yours had a non-GM heater, the holes were done by whoever put that in, not GM .... if you've still got the original inside "dash mat" you might see marked-but-not-punched circles where different configurations would go - CDN will be the same as US

Hi Bill, just got your post,i don't have the original dash mat so i cant check that out.I went out to the truck to look and the holes for the core are fender to fender, the heater i took out of the parts truck, the holes are ground to hood if that makes sense.I think i'll be able to make it fit without to much hassle, gonna have a buddy over to have a look. Thanks for the input, will keep you informed. wave

yeah, I think the 2 factory heaters are up/down, all you gotta do is plug the existing holes and pop in some to fit the heater you got, piecea cake
