I wondering which types of vehicle rearends with around a 3.5:1 gear ratio would work in my truck. I placing a TH350 turbo transmission in the truck.

It's a bit wide, but it works for now (actually for the past 8+ years).

Grab a tape measure, there are lot's of options. Spring perches will most likely need to be changed, no matter what you decide to use.
My brother in-law "27Capitol" has a '51 also, and he chose one from a Pontiac Trans Am (I think it's a '78) positraction unit.

It came with 3.00:1 gears but I swapped punkins out of my 66 Ford pickup which had 3.50:1 gears. This was an improvement for both the Ford and Chevy pickups, as the Chevy has a 89mm tranny with .73 overdrive. | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 355 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 355 | ackk NOOO not a ford in a chevy :P now its .... frankenstien
