Totally rewired, new Dolphin guages, lights that work etc, Its a 350 with a 400 transmision but if you look on the outside, except for a gas tank in the rear and dual exhausts, it would pass for original. But I did something to the interior that I have never seen done, and I love it.
I want this to be a daily driver and I want comfort, so I put in new seats, new headliner, sound deadeners, the whole 9 yards, but the real cool thing is I went on Ebay and bought a full leather hide for about $90. I used a paper template, pulled all the dash brackets and covers off and then cut a leather dash. Glued down and reinstalled the brackets and it looks like it was there forever. I then took the remaining leather and made a panel that fits behind the seats where the gas tank was and it looks even better. While I did all of this myself so I doubt it will win any awards, this is the first time I have seen anyone try this in stovebolt, is it common? I hope to have pictures in here within the week, if anyone is interested | | | | ZooKeeper Unregistered | ZooKeeper Unregistered | I know I will get some criticism for lack of authenticity. None from me, but it may have something to do w/mt stuffing a 425/400 Caddy combo in mine [image] https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/default/bag.gif[/image].... Saves on paintwork too. Nice truck BTW! Jock 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr.
