Is it possible to extend these cabs? I would like to add an extra seat as I plan on driving this truck on a regular basis camping trips and boat shows but need the extra seating for my nephews? Any ideas? It is currently a long bed and the cab is the 5 window design?

There was a fellow bolter (from Minnesota I think) that extended his cab. He posted pictures too. He cut the cab and lengthened the doors. It gave it a nice chopped look without changing the head room height.
Sounds like you are looking for a crew cab. I know a couple of years ago there was a custom 4 door at the Truck Nationals. Try this link. I think there is a picture of it here.

The latest issue of Custom Classic Trucks has the very thing your looking for. A guy took, I believe a 52 Chevy, and gave her another couple feet in length. He chopped the top slighty and flattened out the roof, it's a real beauty.

He's my truck that I lengthened. Search my post and you can see all the dicussion between my fellow bolters whom helped desin this truck.

Tom How much extra room did you come up with behind your seat. What was the amount that you added to the doors. Have the same thing on the design table, I have a extra cab and have'nt desided if i was going to just streach the doors and or just add almost a hole cab behind the other to get a crew cab effect. It seems like thats becoming very common with all these people buying the new ones. I bet its probally 75% or more. But really don't like that four door look, was glad to see you had the vision to streach it like a 2 door. I'm old school it aint a Hotrod or sports car if its got more than 2 doors. I plan on making mine a 57 ext, short bed fleet side. Just have to Nail down the chassis part 1st. What did you do with frame length. I thought about going with short bed on long bed frame and what ever the defferance was add that much cab. Filling in with extra doors or like you did streach the doors. Thought it might be a fun challenge to put in third door on passengar side having it be suicide type??
I know I dont need to tell ya but sweeeeet ride very nicely done.



I got a line on a extra 53 cab but I'm pretty faraway but get 2 the question can you extend these cabs yes if you can weld specially if you dont mind swaping out that long bed for a short one.
As you can see what Tom did or just throw another cab behind the 1 you got and cut and fit.

I added 8 inches to the cab. I used a donor cab and 2 donor doors. Since I only extented 8 inches we used a long box frame and running boards.

Best thing to do is have a pro do it, unless your an expert welder.
