Has anyone done it? I want to keep my orig. column shift, but install a Saginaw 4 speed open drive. Im planning on using a "T" handle with a cable for reverse,,like an overdrive in/out cable.
Has anyone tried this and made it work? What probs. did you run into? Im expecting some shift rod fabrication.
Thanx in advance for your help,
Marty

If you havent, take a peak over at the oldgmctruck site. Ken Brown (motionguru) has done that and now uses a cable to put her in reverse. Heres the link to pics and the post. If you arent signed up over there, its worth it.

MARTY I DID IT ON MY 47 FLEETMASTER 15YEARS AGO 1ST-4TH GEAR WAS ON THE TREE, AND REVERSE, WAS A LITTLE METAL SHIFTER OR LEVER ON THE FLOOR. WHEN I WANTED TO BACK UP I WOULD PUT THE COLUMN IN NEUTRAL, AND PULL THE LITTLE LEVER ON THE FLOOR INTO REVERSE
