The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline Brake hose differences?

Can anyone tell me the difference between the flexible rear brake hose on a 1972 Chevy 1/2 ton with coil springs and one with leaf springs? Looking through the various FLAPS comes up with a hose for leaf springs while some of the other vendors list the parts with different part numbers between the two types of rear suspensions.

A blown wheel cylinder and new shoes is snowballing into more work then I had planned as I steadily destroy the brake lines and strip threads trying to get the fittings apart.

According to my MPB, '72 series 10 thru 30 and Blazer (except 11,000 lb axle) uses the same hose. Part # is 9757634.

I can sympathize about how a simple job turns into six or eight jobs before you are done.

Hy rustednuts, according to my Raybestos catalogue leaf spring hose is p/n BH36684 18 5/16" o.a.l., coil spring hose is p/n BH36683 20 1/2" o.a.l., hope that helps

Using those numbers, it looks like the thread pitch on the 'T' is the same at 7/16"-24, but where the end attaches to the hard line from the MC is either 7/16"-20 (for #36683) or 7/16"-24 (for #36684). Looks like I get to order both and see which one fits.
