I have a '48 2-ton conventional cab truck with a hydrolic bed hoist and a two speed rear axle. My grandfather bought it new, and it's been in the family since. It's been used to haul cattle and grain in Oklahoma. It's time it's gotten a bit more attention.
I'm in need of a hood latch, door latch mechanisms, interior panels, floor mat, an ignition switch, and chrome hood ensignias. Does anyone know of a good source for these parts? | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,903 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,903 | | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 | There'a a forum here for "parts wanted". Put a list of your needs on there. There's also one for "parts for sale". Maybe someone on there has what you need.
By the way, welcome to the 'Bolt! | | | | Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 39 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 39 | If you cant find what you need here from a fellow 'bolter, I would EXTREMELY recommend Jim Carters Truck parts. They have been EXTREMELY helpful to me and I dont own a truck yet. Dad met with Jim Carter at a swap meet once and they talked for an half hour - 45 mins. and Jim was so incredibly helpful. His website is the link crenwelge posted.
No 'bolt yet, but if you'd like to help me out with that, send me a message! Or check out my wanted add in the swap meet.
