Hello, I'm a newby here. I was referred here for a source of parts and restoration information.

I have a '48 2-ton conventional cab truck with a hydrolic bed hoist and a two speed rear axle. My grandfather bought it new, and it's been in the family since. It's been used to haul cattle and grain in Oklahoma. It's time it's gotten a bit more attention.

I'm in need of a hood latch, door latch mechanisms, interior panels, floor mat, an ignition switch, and chrome hood ensignias. Does anyone know of a good source for these parts?

I've gotten parts through LMC truck and have been very happy with their quality.

I've also heard classic parts of America is good http://www.classicparts.com/download-cat.html
And so is Chevys of the 40's, they have things I never thought I'd find.

And I also found this place, but can't vouch for quality
http://www.brotherstrucks.com/

I've put together a parts list for my rig and prices very, one place is cheaper on somethings but not on others. Good luck!

There'a a forum here for "parts wanted". Put a list of your needs on there.
There's also one for "parts for sale". Maybe someone on there has what you need.

By the way, welcome to the 'Bolt!

If you cant find what you need here from a fellow 'bolter, I would EXTREMELY recommend Jim Carters Truck parts. They have been EXTREMELY helpful to me and I dont own a truck yet. Dad met with Jim Carter at a swap meet once and they talked for an half hour - 45 mins. and Jim was so incredibly helpful. His website is the link crenwelge posted.

No 'bolt yet, but if you'd like to help me out with that, send me a message! Or check out my wanted add in the swap meet.
