Hey guys im running 38" mud tires on my 46 Chevy 1/2 ton (its on a 69 K20 4x4 chassis) and the front tires rub on the fenders. I was going to cut larger openings but I was told that 2 ton fenders will bolt right on and are wider and have bigger openings. Anyone know if this is accurate?

I'm not an expert on this, but I believe if you use big bolt fenders, you might have to use a big bolt hood and grill as well.
I might be wrong, but that is what I've heard. I'm sure somebody here knows the facts.

The hood and grill are the same between models. The running boards are also different (shorter) as the 1 1/2 ton fenders extend further down where they meet the cab.

One thing to consider is how it will look with the rear fenders. It may look goofy with the larger opening in the front and smaller opening in the back, unless of course you have a flatbed.
