Can anyone tell me the positioning in inches from the front of the bed and how far up where the spare tire mount belongs on a step side long bed? got one off ebay and mine never had one.

I'm working on my 64' with the same set up and shold be mounting things up this week. I'll send some pix and measurements as I get to that part of the job for you. I'm using a 62' box on a 64 truck. Everything should be the same(I hope)or I'm in for some serious problems.

I'm dealing with that just the opposite (62 truck/65 bed), my mounts are off for bed to frame, the '62 frame is wider, I had extra rails so I think I'm going to just cut off the spacers on the extra rails and put them in the proper place and weld them on, my back bumper is off by several inces on each side so I will make a second set of brackets to fit to the frame as for it is a stepside wrap around bumper which is bolted to the fenders.
So yeah be sure to measure up before you have to take it back off.

Lookin at your photo DJ and I'm wondering if your bed has the tire fender or the non tire fender, mine is the non tire fender, interesting to see all the Jayhawkers on here (lol) I'm from Topeka.

Originally my truck had the dimpled fender. The bed I'm using is from a 62' and doesn't have the spare cut out. I've already had to rework the rear bumper brackets to fit the 64' rails, and am hoping the 62' box doesn't give me any surpises. I've got the bed wood cut, and everything in primer, just waiting for some decent weather to get painting done. I've ordered all the bed strips as of today(03/02)and hardware I'm going to need. I'm as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs hoping everything goes together as planned. I may get a rude awakening. Oh well...ain't nuthin' that can't be fixed.
