Hi Fellow bolters. I just bought an 3 speed w/overdrive. And was hopeing to find a pageor imfo that shows now to wire this unit. Its going in my 50 1/2 with 3.73.in the rear. What was the first year Chevy offered O/D in a truck? And where would the O/D handle mount? Any pics out there ?. Thanks for any help.

The only experience with the old O.D. stuff was on my father-in-laws 55 Ford Customline. His service manual had a really well done schematic and description of how and why it's done the way it's done. The way it sounds from other posts, the Ford set-up is very simular if not the same. If you can't find decent Chevy info, look into this era Fords for the info you need. There's a governor (speed sensor), a solenoid and a fuse block that makes up the electrical and the push/pull handle that's just mounted under the dash. Did you get all of these pieces with your trans? Good luck, if need be maybe I can borrow the Ford manual from Pa in-law sometime for you,
