Hello all, my name is Joe and im from Upstate NY. Last October i bought my wife a '50 Chevrolet 3600 for her birthday. I've got it to the point to where it moves and stops under its own power. Now we want to get it road worthy, but not make any major changes that would stop us from driving it. The truck is going to be more of a resto rod than a show truck. As soon as i can figure out how to post pictures i'll show it off.(the truck, not my wife)

Welcome to the 'bolt, wesfab/Joe cool

Let's see... You gave your wife a truck for her birthday. Uh huh... What a good way to get an okay on another project!! Just kidding grin

For posting pix, you'll just need to go find a 'hosting site' like Photobucket, Flickr or any of that nature & upload away. Once you get some up on-line, just use the "Full Reply Screen" below and you can link straight to them, with a title, if you like, using the first button up there in the reply box, to the left of the envelope.

Joy (one of the moderators) has a good explanation of how to copy and paste the link and such. If you get stuck, I'll go find it for you or maybe she'll post it directly for you.

Here is the little thingy that I wrote up to try to make it easier for you. Joe, Where upstate NY are you from? I've here in Ontario, Wayne County or near Rochester NY. My husband bought me a truck too and I drive it all the time in the summer. Here is how to post pictures. Good luck!

After taking your pictures, you have to down load the images to a
host. That would be Webshots, VillagePhoto, or any other hosting that
you might already have. Once you get them downloaded, they will show
you a HTTP. It should end with a jpg. Here is an example

You will have something like this:
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-1/95040/workingtruck.jpg

Now to make a link, you will have to put in front of your
http , then put this at the very end.
You should have something like this

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-1/95040/workingtruck.jpg

Do not skip any spaces. That long [url thing is what will tell the
computer where your image is and by clicking on "My truck" , it will
take the viewers right to it. We want only Links as posting images
in your post will take up too much room and some slow computers will
freeze up. I hope this has helped and please practice in your post.
After writing you post , click on 'Preview Post. If you see something
like "MY TRUCK" or what ever you titled the picture, it should show
up, Click on it and it should show the picture of your truck at the
web site you hosted it in the first place. Try it. If it doesn't
work, look very close as just one little thing can make it not work.
It must be exact. Good luck.

hi fellow upstate new yorker

you are gonna learn tons from these guys on this site. i hope your wife really likes the truck and the nights you are gonna spend in the garage working on it. it is truelly an addiction. not sure if there is any cure or not. just enjoy it.

rust is a wonderful thing.

you might wanna get a tenus shot before you really dig into it. i get all kinds of cuts on these rusty old trucks. i love every minute of it.

This is my first try with the pictures here. If it works out, the first pic(black and white) is of my wife's first time seeing/driving it. The second one is it sitting in my shop. The third and fourth pictures are of MY project, i started with a 46ford and went from there. Trust me, i've got my tetnus shot, haha.

ps:sorry about the size of the pictures, im still learning this photobucket thing.
