It's the last thing I need and the crank is at the machine shop getting the rod journals turned. (down to what I don't know yet). Cost is the main issue but if I could get it done similar in cost I would go with getting my rods machined to take inserts. I can't find anyone in Northern WI that will machine them for me. Any body know a place to send them? Jim Carter is about $48 each for babbitt or machined, plus $113 for bearings for the machined. I think Egge might be able to help you. The February issue Custom Classic Trucks has a good article on Egge. 6 11415HD STD and EGGE # CB503.000. The STD refers to stock crank measurement for the rods.

Next the rod parting surfaces are cleaned up and then they ae bored. The last thing is to notch them for the bearings. It all has to be done in a very precise manner. | | |
