First,I need the dimensions of the original stock radiator. There wasn't a radiator in the truck when I got it. Is there a universal aluminum radiator out there that will work on this model without much fab work? Or if you have a concern or can't find a good one, get one with good tanks and have it recored with a larger core. That will be much cheaper that an aftermarket and will fit the first time.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 99 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 99 | The stock standard radiator is 25 1/2 tall, 21 1/2 wide (not including mounting brackets), and 3 inches deep (not including the pipes in/out of the radiator, which adds an additional 1 to 1 1/4 inches).

On my 55 I am still using the stock radiator with a built 350. The truck was originally a 6 cyl truck. The only thing I added was a good shroud. I had the rad rebuilt and am using an electric fan attached to it with a thermal control. The fan is a flex-a-lite 180 (3300 CFM). I needed to make a couple of backets to adapt the rad to the core support, but it was an easy fab.
