There should be another letter for the month. Maybe this link will help 52 Chevy . If not look at the other Chevy manuals online at that site. What kind of door handles does it have? Does it have vent windows in the doors? Pull down outside handles with vents are unique to 51. Push button door handle started in 52 thru 66. Give us some more clues and maybe we can help you figure it out. What does the title say?

Dump ID | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 829 | Some states used the serial number as the VIN, and some used the engine ID as the VIN. It can be found next to the distributor. | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 38 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 38 | The serial # states 16,000lbs GWV and # 20 VE 1625. Engine # is identified as a 261 V6. I've been told that it is a 2 ton 6000 series. Door handles go down with vented windows. Is this a 6000,6100,6400, or something else? Help | | | | Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,927 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,927 | beacon It's not going to be a 261 V6 but an I6 - Inline. Great motor by the way. Congrats!! The wheelbase also dictates the series. 6100 is short-wheelbase (137"). That will measure 60" CA (back of Cab to rear Axle). 6400 is long-wheelbase (161") - 84 CA. I think that was your choices from 47-52 or 53. By 54 there was an even longer 6500. Again, checkout this site. Good luck and Have fun.

What should I measure? | | | | Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,927 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,927 | No. The "big" trucks - 1 1/2 and 2-ton - have larger fenders, hoods and grilles to cover the larger tires. I don't know how to tell you to measure them. Same cab as pickups though. You'll have to find another 4100, 4400, 6100, 6400, etc. truck for those parts. Try posting in the Big Bolts forum. Make yourself acquainted over there. The big truck guys are all helpful and friendly. Check out the Swap Meet too.

Are they available somewhere? Mine are pretty rusted. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 | The cowl parts are part of the cab and they should be the same as the 1/2 Ton. Outer, inner and inner to outer cowl parts are available from all the major classic truck suppliers. Some of them are listed in the links on this site. | | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 382 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 382 | Welcome, Beacon!! | | |
