Last nite I tried to adjust it with the dash clamp, but it did not cooperate. How can I get it in the center of the hole in the floor?

The fit and finish varies between iffy and awful. Not that that is surprising from GM...Corvettes are essentially handbuilt, and even they've had issues since the start of the line. | | |

It might be possible to move the mounting of the box one way or the other slightly. I have a 37 and just last weekend I moved the steering box 1/4" toward the engine which helped the centering of the column in the toe floor board and also moved the pitman arm slightly in closer to the frame, achieving two things that I wanted to do. A couple of washers used as spacers might work, depending on which way you are trying to go. Joe
