Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 23 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 23 | I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and what they did about it. I have the dog house off the front of my '42 half ton, I installed new leaf springs and bushings, and replaced the ball studs on the steering arm and on the pitman arm with ones that are threaded, as opposed to the original pressed in style. Even with the engine and trans in place, the steering arm connection to the draglink hits the front axle. Do I heat the steering arm and bend it up to clear? I can't find any issues with my assembly work. Thanks for your help

There is some wiggle room in the bolt holes. You might also have to grind a little off the bottom of the stud for clearance. Will the suspension load up when it hits a bump and contact it?

You could smooth up the axle if it has rough casting in that spot.
