I have always used a remote starter switch for my solenoid starter engines.what is the best way to turn the engine by hand for foot operated starter engines? Thanks everyone.

Be sure to disconnect the coil wire, or ground out the points, so you won't run over yourself if a cylinder fires. Jerry

#49585 08/27/2005 8:42 PM | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 153 Member | | Member Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 153 | mine has the foot switch too and i can just pry a screwdriver behind the lever on the starter from under the hood and make the starter engage. again, make sure to leave the ignition switch off or take out the coil wire, etc.
