Perhaps there is actually a plastic caster around the metal ? Thanks for your help Tom | | | | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 24 Apprentice | Apprentice Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 24 | Hello again,
I found a larger photo and can see, that there is a plastic caster. Could it be that it is rotten away at my regulator and how could I fix this ?
Thanks for your help

I remember a thread some time ago about a leather washer but can't remember what when or where !! | | | | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 24 Apprentice | Apprentice Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 24 | @ Joe : OK, thank you.
@ Achipmunk : Hmm, I will try to find this thread about the leather washer. I don't want to buy new regulators, they are really ok. But I think it could not be very easy to put new rollers on it.

Mine 52 didn't have anything but the nub on the end of the regulator!! I guess I'll have to figure out how to put one own them. Is Classic Parts the only one that sells the little rollers. I didn't see it anywhere else. I hate to pay 8 bucks for shipping such small item.....and JimC doesn't have them. I guess I'll just swallow hard and order them....maybe next month! EDIT: Why does Classic Parts say a THREE piece set?? Am I missing something??? It seems it would be 4 or six?

Those links describe a 47-50 regulator, right?
So, how about a 51-52 regulator which is different. Does it, or did it, use rollers... or leather originally?....also when I took mine out(1952) I did see what was a remnant of what looked like a leather washer left on the regulator when I pulled it out. Now, I know anything is possible over the past 60 years but can someone give me the skinny on the 51-52.... Sorry I'm so hard understanding I just don't want to screw them up and have to do it again. Do it ONCE and do it RIGHT.
