I have all of the necessary grommets for my truck; however, several of them the cable that goes through them the end is much larger than the hole in the grommet. Any tips on how I go about getting them on without cutting them? I tried cutting them but they just don't seem to want to stay.
If you cut them is there something out there that can be used to glue or fuse the cut ends back together?
I'm sure that someone out here has solved this one. How did you do it?

The stuff that you get for rubber membrane roof repair or tube tire patches works great. You only get one shot at it, though, its permanent.

Being that I have already cut them, i'll try the glue once it warms up a bit. The problematic ones it does not appear that the grommet would stretch enough to get them through. Have also not tried the heating method.

Just put the cut at the bottom where it isn't as obvious.
