Not being able to see it run, I would have started at $50 and maybe gone to $100. A lot of it depends on how bad you want it and how hard it is for him to get rid of it. Sometimes you can find them for free, if the guy's wife is yelling at him to clean up the garage.

So a 230 or 250 that"s non integral head good running not too much smoke is worth about $50.00 to $100.00 be careful integral head ones are worth five bucks.
Yeah you can get the garage clean up for free sometimes but it might be junk, and you just did a free clean up, better hear it run first.
1966 is the only year they had a steel crankshaft in the 250 engine unless I am wrong.? | | |
#49075 08/16/2005 5:21 AM | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 90 Member | | Member Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 90 | i've seen prices for 292 long block's to be rebuilt as standard w/ rv type lift cam $1K, while other greasy motors on ebay that don't sell (because of shipping issues) for 50 bucks. if you think it's a good clean motor, clutch and bell housing. Comp 130, oil pr. 45+, vacuum 10+ and you want it , get it.
